Alan Grayson for President in 2012!07.28.11

The presidency of Barack Obama has been a terrible disappointment for American liberals. We worked for years to get a President who could undo the terrible legacy of George W. Bush, but instead of working with us, Barack Obama has continued Bush’s agenda. Obama is now even expressing his willingness to make significant cuts to the Social Security and Medicare payments that American workers have already paid for. That’s a step too far.

2012 campaign buttonSome people will say that liberals don’t have a choice. They’ll say that we have to vote for Obama, even though Obama is supporting a Republican agenda. That’s hogwash. As long as we have democracy, we have a choice.

Wear this campaign button as a show of support for an alternative presidential candidate: Alan Grayson for President in 2012. Alan Grayson is a liberal former member of Congress who knows what it takes to confront the Republican Right with clarity rather than with concessions.

It’s time to give Barack Obama a Good Left Hook!07.22.11

For many Democrats, this is the moment when Barack Obama has gone too far. Last night, It was announced by the Obama White House that President Obama is working with John Boehner to make deep cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Add this to Obama’s complete neglect of the growing issue of climate change, his refusal to end George W. Bush’s wars, and his continuation of Bush’s unconstitutional policies.

looking for a liberal alternative to barack obamaMany Democrats are concluding that Barack Obama has become a Republican in all but name, and can no longer support Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. The campaign gear you see here is for them: A collection of bumper stickers, buttons and tshirts for liberal Democrats who are now looking for a genuine progressive alternative to Obama in 2012.

Display these items proudly to show that you’re more of a progressive patriot than you are a blind partisan. Also take a look at the New Progressive Alliance, a group that is looking for a liberal to challenge Barack Obama in the 2012 Democratic Primary. Also see Democrats Against Obama on Squidoo.

Naturalists Against Mitt Romney07.14.11

In 2012, Mitt Romney is campaigning against himself. The Mitt Romney of the past acknowledged the scientific fact that global warming is real and is mostly caused by industrial human activities. The Mitt Romney of 2012 pretends that global warming isn’t a problem, and that it might not be caused by human activities.

anti-romney campaign buttonWhy the change? The facts haven’t changed. Republican voters’ opinions have changed, and Mitt Romney has flip flopped in order to accommodate that change.

It isn’t just an environmental problem that Mitt Romney is so easily moved from fact to fantasy on global warming. The relationship that a politician has with the Earth indicates the kind of relationship that politician will have with constituents. Mitt Romney’s relationship with the Earth is a relationship of disrespect.

Naturalists see the way a food chain works, and know that, under a Romney presidency, environmentalists would be at the bottom of the political food chain. It’s no wonder that Naturalists are against Mitt Romney 2012.

Secular Americans Against Michele Bachmann07.02.11

A graduate of Oral Roberts University, founded by the televangelist who said that he would be killed by God if his followers didn’t give him a million dollars right away, Michele Bachmann is a radical evangelist’s dream president candidate – and a secular American’s nightmare.

Bachmann has joined in with theocratic political rallies declaring that “only the supernatural hand of god can save America”.

Bachmann tries to use the power of the military to push Christianity on soldiers.

atheist anti-bachmann buttonBachmann has, over and over again, tried to force public school biology teachers to teach Creationism junk science.

Michele Bachmann is betting that all these radical theocratic positions will earn her the support of a powerful assembly of radical Christian voters. What she’s not counting on is that the number of secular Americans, people turned off by radical religion, is growing.

It’s time for us secular Americans to join together to fight the theocratic menace embodied in Michele Bachmann. In 2012, let Bachmann learn that the organizing power of secular America is a force to be reckoned with.

Americans Are Against Thaddeus McCotter07.01.11

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter, from the suburbs of Detroit, will be making an announcement tomorrow about whether he will run for President in 2012. All indications are that he will jump into the race.

button against thaddeus mccotterMost Americans don’t know much about McCotter. Here are some clues about McCotter’s record in Congress to help you evaluate the politician:

- McCotter claims to be pro-family, but he’s voted to strip citizenship from American babies, to oppose food for American kinds, and to thwart the expansion of marriage rights so that all American families can have equal legal status.

- McCotter has voted to promote religious discrimination through many pieces of legislation

- McCotter has blocked efforts to expose torture

- McCotter supports the assembly of Homeland Insecurity laws that establish unconstitutional big government programs to spy on Americans

- McCotter supports military programs that are so wasteful that the Pentagon itself has declared it wants them shut down

- McCotter opposed efforts to fight discrimination on the job

Thaddeus McCotter may think of himself as a great leader, but on issue after issue, McCotter has been leading in the wrong direction. That’s why Americans are against Thaddeus McCotter.
