Georgia Supports Rocky Anderson for President02.12.12

What kind of people support Rocky Anderson for President? They’re the kind of people who have a memory that lasts longer than just a few months – people who can think back and remember that the very same political parties that promised change in the last election are the same people pushing the same old political agenda America has been stuck with for a whole generation.

rocky anderson for president button for georgiaRocky Anderson puts it this way: “Our supporters are those who want to see real change – who want to see an elimination of the corrupting influence of money in our government. We will have universal health care for all our citizens (which Ron Paul opposes) if we eliminate the influence of the many millions of dollars flowing from the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries. We will see major cuts in military spending by eliminating the corrupting influence of money from the military-industrial complex. I would make the case to the American people about the waste in our military budget and stop the practice of Democrats and Republicans alike fighting for massive funding simply to take the federal pork back to their states and districts.”

Voters in Georgia are tired of being told that they only have two choices in an election: Republican or Democrat. That’s why Georgians are giving their support to the Rocky Anderson for President campaign. Rocky Anderson isn’t a Democrat or a Republican. He’s the leader of the new Justice Party. Wear this campaign button to show that you have joined Georgia for Rocky Anderson for President in 2012.

Liberals Should Support Democrat Darcy Richardson for President, Not Obama01.13.12

American liberals, ask yourself this question: What has Barack Obama done for you lately?

Obama has helped Republicans arrange for huge budget cuts to education, to Medicare, and to American infrastructure. He’s extended George W. Bush’s tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires. He’s done this while expanding military spending to record breaking levels.

progressive democrat darcy richardson 2012Barack Obama has refused to support marriage equality for same sex couples. He’s actually sent lawyers to court to argue that homosexuality is like bestiality – an argument we thought was better suited to Rick Santorum.

Barack Obama has expanded the unconstitutional White House Office Of Faith Based Initiatives. He’s extended the Patriot Act without reforms. He has refused to reform the FISA Amendments Act, as he promised he would.

When the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling platform exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, unleashing the biggest oil spill in American history, Barack Obama did not respond with a moratorium on new offshore drilling. Instead, Obama expanded oil drilling both offshore and onshore.

Barack Obama’s record in the White House is unacceptable to progressive Democrats.

Luckily, progressive Democrats have an alternative. Darcy Richardson is running for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2012 – and he’s on the ballot.

Give Darcy Richardson your vote, and wear this Darcy Richardson for President campaign tshirt to show your support. The shirt is made in America, not in a nasty overseas sweatshop.

Vote Mitt Zombie For Lord Of The Underworld01.10.12

Yes, it looks like Mitt Romney is probably going to win the 2012 Republican presidential nomination contest, but let’s be honest – it wasn’t really a very vigorous contest, was it? The Republican presidential candidates competed with each other to see who could be the most insane, the most pathetic, the furthest outside of America’s boundaries of reasonable behavior.

So, Mitt Romney won that competition, huh? Well, that only means that Mitt Romney was chosen as the most outrageous of the whole bunch. That’s no distinction to be proud of.

anti-romney keychainRomney’s particular problem is that he’s still following a political agenda that was dying 50 years ago, a narrow vision of American values that was dead and buried long ago. Mitt Romney has dug that 20th century politics up out of its grave, and is trying to convince everyone it’s still alive and breathing. It’s disgusting to watch. Mitt Romney is the political undead of the 2012 election.

This political keychain perfectly captures the idea of Mitt Romney’s moaning, shuffling, tired old routine. It recasts Mitt Romney as Mitt Zombie, campaigning for Lord of the Underworld instead of for President of the United States.

I can picture Romney now, giving a speech to his fellow Republican zombies, promising “Brains in every pot!”

Mitt Romney Breaks Promise On Defense Authorization Act12.20.11

Eight days ago in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney was asked by a voter to comment on the indefinite detention provision in the National Defense Authorization Act. The NDAA grants the federal government the power to grab American citizens and throw them into prison for as long as it wants, without putting the citizens on trial or even charging them with a crime. A mere unsubstantiated accusation is all it will take under this bill for an American to be locked up.

The legislation was passed by both houses of Congress last week and is unopposed by President Barack Obama and so will become law. In spite of its dramatic nature, Mitt Romney didn’t seem to know what the legislation was at all. When asked about the National Defense Authorization Act, Romney stammered and delayed, saying, “Let me look at the particular authorization, ah, and, and, and I’ll make sure on our website we’ll describe our reaction to that particular amendment. I can tell you this, which is that there is an effort on the part of violent, radical jihadis to destroy America.”

anti-romney campaign buttonThe voter offered plenty of information for Mitt Romney and his aides to use to find out about the National Defense Authorization Act. The voter described “an amendment to a defense authorization bill last week that would allow the detention of Americans arrested in the United States and to allow the military to hold them indefinitely without charging them or trying them”.

That’s pretty clear. Yet, over a week later, Mitt Romney has taken no action to keep his promise. The Romney campaign has not made a single statement about the National Defense Authorization Act, and its extraordinary, unconstitutional imprisonment powers.

If I were a voter in New Hampshire, I’d take a look at Mitt Romney’s promise to a New Hampshire resident, and then I’d consider the way that Romney broke that promise, and then… there’s no way in hell I’d cast a ballot for Romney.

I love freedom. That’s why I can’t vote for Mitt Romney

Illinois Liberals Flocking To Jill Stein12.10.11

The veteran liberal political web site Irregular Times just put up a new collection of Jill Stein for President buttons and magnets. This collection includes the locally specific campaign button for Illinois voters supporting Jill Stein.

Why Illinois for Jill Stein? Isn’t Illinois the home base for the Barack Obama re-election campaign?

green party presidential campaign in chicagoYes, Obama is a strong presence in Illinois, but Obama’s presence has become defined as much by broken promises as by any positive association.

Besides that, the Jill Stein for President campaign also has a strong presence in Illinois in the form of Ben Manski, a well-known political organizer in Illinois and Wisconsin. Manski has been working to strengthen the Illinois Green Party for years, and now that work is paying off – for the Jill Stein campaign.

Third Party Politics notes that Jill Stein recently commanded 27 percent of the vote at a straw poll of students at Western Illinois University. That’s just 12 points behind Barack Obama and 6 points behind Mitt Romney.

Join Ben Manski, Jill Stein, and other Illinois liberals in demanding real change, not just vague, broken promises of hope. Wear a button to show that you’re one voter in Illinois who is voting for Jill Stein for President.

Iowa Voters Against Gingrich12.07.11

Iowa Against Gingrich describes the situation building with the 2012 Iowa caucuses in stark, but accurate, language:

anti-gingrich campaign button“The Gingrich campaign in Iowa seems more like psychological therapy for Gingrich than anything, a way for him to get out all the negative feelings. The trouble is that the crazy, angry, flying off the handle approach seems to be getting Gingrich a lot of attention, and some strong support. Some voters seem to be drawn to Gingrich in some creepy way, attracted in spite of themselves to the insulting, abusive approach Gingrich takes to dealing with the American people.”

The fact is that there isn’t enough on-the-ground opposition to Newt Gingrich in Iowa right now. That’s what’s allowed Gingrich to surge to a double digit lead, in spite of his unstable personality and wildly vacillating political positions. A certain sort of Iowa voter senses energy in the Gingrich camp, and isn’t paying enough attention to figure out that it’s a very negative, dangerous sort of energy.

There isn’t time left to wait for someone else to step forward and organize everything for a grassroots anti-Gingrich effort in Iowa. It’s up to you. Speak out against Gingrich to your friends and neighbors, and wear this Iowa Against Gingrich campaign button wherever you go, to spread the word.

Massachusetts Against Newt Gingrich12.05.11

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich accuses liberal of provoking a “moral collapse” in the United States. However, it was Newt Gingrich himself who was caught in a moral collapse the last time he was involved in the U.S. federal government.

anti-gingrich campaign buttonGingrich brought shame to the position of Speaker of the House. After his activities were discovered, Gingrich himself admitted that he violated ethics rules, and thus Gingrich became the first and only Speaker of the House to be subjected to an official reprimand.

Now, Gingrich is campaigning on moral values?

In Massachusetts, voters see through the smokescreen of “traditional values” that Newt Gingrich uses to try to distract people from his own terrible record of abuse of government power. That’s why people in Massachusetts are wearing this anti-Gingrich button for 2012. We just can’t afford to have such an unethical leader in office on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Why Support Rocky Anderson For President? The Buzz…12.04.11

Here’s some of what people are saying about why to support the emerging campaign of Rocky Anderson for President:

“Anderson was against the War in Iraq, has campaigned against the War on Drugs, and is a supporter of GLBT rights.”

Anderson 2012 campaign button“One of Utah’s most liberal politicians, Anderson renounced his affiliation with the Democratic Party in August, saying he was fed up with it along with Congress, the Obama administration and Republicans.”

“Anderson refuses to take corporate support of the kind that Barack Obama and the Republican presidential candidates have come to rely upon. Anderson has been a human rights leader, seeking a return in the United States to the simple principles of the United States Constitution.”

“Anderson makes a good case for a 3rd party. Much of what he said echoes what Ralph Nader has been saying for years. Maybe people are ready to hear it now.”

“I’m tired of wasting my vote on the old tired and worn out Parties that are so corrupted. I’d rather give someone else a chance and so I will learn more about this man. I at least wanted to bring this to others attention.”

“He’s campaigning against war. He’s campaigning for equality for all, regardless of sexual orientation. He’s campaigning against torture.”

“If Rocky Anderson gets serious and organized, and the Eurozone continues to unwind, the 2012 election may yet become an interesting contest where pressing problems are debated, not ignored.”

Support Jill Stein for President10.10.11

It’s a sad thing to say, but Barack Obama just doesn’t support our values. Call them progressive values, or liberal values, you know what I mean. On issues of peace, the environment, civil liberties or economic justice, President Obama has continued the rotten old policies of George W. Bush rather than giving us the change we were promised.

green party 2012 campaignWhy would we vote for 4 more years of that?

Jill Stein is the responsible presidential candidate on the Left in 2012. As a Green Party candidate, Stein has the steadfast dedication to a real liberal agenda. However, Stein is also an accomplished professional and a capable politician, with a demonstrated ability to run a strong campaign.

Get involved, and show your support wherever you walk by wearing this Jill Stein for President campaign button. Spread the word about this new, genuine hope.

Citizens of Detroit for Obama 201209.21.11

The people of Detroit will never forget that it was Barack Obama who brought their city back from the brink of complete collapse during the recession that was caused by the fiscal irresponsibility of George W. Bush and his Republican supporters. That’s why there’s an active Detroit 4 Obama twitter community, keeping up a grassroots effort to re-elect Obama to the White House in 2012.

pro-obama campaign buttonMembers of the group warn Republicans, “Trying to trash the economy just so you can make Obama look bad is about as anti-American as you can get.” They ask, rhetorically, “When #TeaParty said they wanted to ‘Take America Back’, who knew they meant back to the Great Depression?”

No one doubts now that 2012 is going to be an extremely tough presidential election. The Republicans are bringing out all their most powerful political weapons to bear against President Obama – and they’ve got Wall Street fat cats and corporations paying the bills of their smear campaigns.

We the people can still make a difference. If you don’t want to see another Republican like Bush in the White House in 2013, now is the time to get involved. A good first step is to make the simple display of a Detroit for Obama 2012 campaign button.
